Effective Evaluations & Compassionate Care

Neuropsychological evaluation and management for a range of neurodevelopmental and neurological/ medical conditions, including but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder & Executive Functioning Developmental Delay & Intellectual Disability Learning Disabilities (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia) Giftedness & Twice Exceptional Emotional Functioning (depression, anxiety) Genetic Conditions Traumatic Brain Injury Post-Oncology Seizure Disorders Neurological Conditions Neuropsychological evaluation uses direct testing and observation to understand brain-behavior relationships. Skills are assessed using standardized tests that show how the individual performs in relation to age-mates. Neuropsychologists examine the pattern of performance across domains of reasoning, visual and auditory processing, memory, language, attention, fine motor, academic skills, and social-emotional-behavioral functioning. This information is used to create strength-based, comprehensive care plans that are tailored to the individual's needs. Dr. Brooklier has been a practicing clinical and pediatric neuropsychologist conducting evaluations and treatment for nearly 20 years in the communities she serves. She focuses on the specific needs of each client and family to ensure strength-based care is provided in a collaborative manner. She has developed strong relationships with many schools, treatment providers, and medical practitioners. Dr. Brooklier is passionate about empowering individuals and families to meet their self-set goals and potential through the evaluation and treatment process. Dr. Brooklier is a fee for service provider. No insurances are accepted or billed directly. Detailed receipts are provided for insurance reimbursement purposes. Dr. Brooklier obtained her Ph.D. from the Wayne State University (WSU) doctoral program in Clinical Psychology with emphasis in neuropsychology and child development. She completed her APA-accredited internship at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and postdoctoral fellowships at Beaumont Hospital Center for Human Development and Children’s Hospital of Michigan Neuropsychology. Previously, she served as the director of the autism assessment program at Children's Hospital of Michigan and the founder and senior director of neuropsychological services at The Children's Center. Presently, Dr. Brooklier maintains her own professional practice and serves as clinical teaching faculty at WSU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Brooklier has authored articles and book chapters and was the project lead on the development of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Best Practice in Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluation. She is on the medical advisory board for the Autism Alliance of Michigan and serves as a consultant and autism and neurodevelopmental disorders content expert for MDHHS. Dr. Brooklier is a Co-Investigator on the University of Michigan- Michigan Medicine TEAM (Teaching and Education for Autism and Developmental Disabilities Management) grant, supporting education for professionals and autistic individuals and their families on the compassionate identification and management of autism and related conditions through all stages of life. Dr. Brooklier is passionate about supporting autonomy in individuals and families. In this vein, she is a certified Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Therapist and In Agency Trainer. Dr. Brooklier enjoys the balance of clinical teaching and practice. Dr. Brooklier is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, Michigan Psychological Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, American Association on Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, and International Society for Autism Research. Outside of work, Dr. Brooklier enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her family, friends, and two adorable dogs.
